Sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), also known as sodium polyoxyethylene sulfate, is 'n organiese verbinding. It is a white crystalline solid with surfactant properties. Sodium dodecyl sulfate, with the formula C12H25SO4Na, is an anionic surfactant. Its molecular structure is composed of dodecyl chain and sulfate ion. In aqueous solution, chemical sodium dodecyl sulfate (solid) can form micellar structures with hydrophobic dodecyl chains facing inward and hydrophobic sulfate ions facing outward.

This product is a white or yellowish sticky substance, commonly used in the detergents and textile industry. Belon to an anionic surfactant.
