1. Rozpouštědlo: n-heptane is a non-polar solvent with good solubility and fluidity. It can dissolve many organic substances, such as oils, pryskyřice, lepidla, rubbers and certain chemicals. For this reason, n-heptane is often used as a solvent in paints, inkousty, cleaning agents, candles, kosmetika, and industrial cleaning agents.

2. Chemická syntéza: n-heptane is a common reaction solvent and intermediate in organic synthesis. It can be used as a solvent in extraction reactions, dissolution reactions and mixing reactions.
