1. Opløsningsmiddel: n-heptane is a non-polar solvent with good solubility and fluidity. It can dissolve many organic substances, such as oils, resins, adhesives, rubbers and certain chemicals. For this reason, n-heptane is often used as a solvent in paints, blæk, cleaning agents, candles, cosmetics, and industrial cleaning agents.

2. Kemisk syntese: n-heptane is a common reaction solvent and intermediate in organic synthesis. It can be used as a solvent in extraction reactions, dissolution reactions and mixing reactions. Ud over, n-heptane can also be used as a starter for organic synthesis, for the preparation of other compounds, such as alcohols, ketones, alkenes, aromatic compounds, etc.

3. Fuel: chemical n-heptane can be used as one of the components of fuel. It is commonly used as a fuel to provide energy in certain industrial and laboratory equipment.
