Sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), also known as sodium polyoxyethylene sulfate, estas organika komponaĵo. It is a white crystalline solid with surfactant properties. Sodium dodecyl sulfate, with the formula C12H25SO4Na, is an anionic surfactant. Its molecular structure is composed of dodecyl chain and sulfate ion. In aqueous solution, chemical sodium dodecyl sulfate (solida) can form micellar structures with hydrophobic dodecyl chains facing inward and hydrophobic sulfate ions facing outward.
