Sodium dodecyl sulfate (Ficha de datos de seguridad (MSDS)), also known as sodium polyoxyethylene sulfate, es un compuesto organico. It is a white crystalline solid with surfactant properties. Sodium dodecyl sulfate, with the formula C12H25SO4Na, es un tensioactivo aniónico. Its molecular structure is composed of dodecyl chain and sulfate ion. In aqueous solution, chemical sodium dodecyl sulfate (sólido) can form micellar structures with hydrophobic dodecyl chains facing inward and hydrophobic sulfate ions facing outward.

This product is a white or yellowish sticky substance, commonly used in the detergents and textile industry. Belon to an anionic surfactant. It is easy to dissolve in water, has good compatibility with anions and nonions, and has good emulsification, foaming, penetration, decontamination, and dispersion properties. It is widely used in toothpaste, champú, shampoo cream, champú, washing powder, liquid washing, cosmetics and plastic moulding, lubrication, farmacéutico, papermaking, materiales de construcción, chemicals and other industries.
