Trimethyl orthoacetate, also known as 1,1, 1-trimethoxy-ethane, is an organic compound, colorless transparent liquid, insoluble in water, and can be miscible with ethanol, ether, toluene, ethyl acetate, carbon tetrachloride and other organic solvents, mainly used as an important intermediate for the synthesis of methyl dichlorothrin.
