Zinc chloride is one of the important products in the inorganic salt industry, and its application is very wide. Zinc chloride soluble in water, soluble in methanol, ethanol, glycerol, acetone, ether, insoluble in liquid ammonia. Strong deliquescence, can absorb moisture from the air and deliquescence. It has the properties of dissolving metal oxides and cellulose. Fused zinc chloride has good electrical conductivity. When hot, thick white smoke is formed. Zinc chloride is corrosive and toxic.

1. It is used as dehydrating agent, shrinking agent in organic synthesis industry and catalyst for production of vanillin, rabbit aldehyde, anti-inflammatory analgesic drugs and cation exchange resin. It can be used as a solvent for polyacrylonitrile. Dyeing and weaving industry used as mordant, mercerizing agent, sizing agent. The textile industry is used as a raw material (cosolvent of cotton fiber) for the production of cotton sliver drums, shuttles and other materials, which can improve the adhesion of fiber. The dye industry is used as a stabilizer for the color salts of ice dyes and for the production of reactive dyes and cationic dyes. Used as oil purification agent and activator of activated carbon. Used for impregnating wood to make it preservative and flame retardant. Used as a flame retardant for cardboard and cloth products. For electroplating. Used as a flux for welding rods. The metallurgical industry is used for the production of aluminum alloys, the deacidification of light metals, and the treatment of oxide layers on metal surfaces. For the production of blueprints.
