Product Detail

Propan-1-ol, also known as 1-propanol, is an organic compound. At room temperature and pressure, n-propanol is a clear, colorless liquid with a strong musty taste similar to rubbing alcohol, and can be dissolved in water, ethanol and ether. Propionaldehyde is generally synthesized from ethylene by carbonyl group and then reduced. N-propanol can be used as solvent instead of ethanol with lower boiling point and can also be used for chromatographic analysis.

Application

1. Solvent: NPA is a commonly used solvent, with good solubility and volatility. It can dissolve many organic substances, such as oils, resins, adhesives, dyes and certain chemicals. Therefore, n-propanol is often used as a solvent in the manufacture of inks, paints, cleaning agents, stain removers and dyes.

2. Medicine and hygiene products: NPA can be used as an ingredient in disinfectants and sanitizers. It acts as a bactericidal and disinfecting agent by destroying cell membranes and proteins. N-propyl alcohol is also used in the preparation of drugs, medical equipment cleaning, disinfection and sterilization, and is commonly found in skin care products, oral cleaning products and other hygiene products.

3. Industrial applications: n-propyl alcohol plays an important role in many industrial processes. It can be used as an ingredient in metal surface treatment agents for oil removal, degreasing and cleaning. In addition, chemical Propan-1-ol can also be used to prepare industrial chemicals such as propyl acetate and acetone.

4. Laboratory application: n-propyl alcohol is a commonly used solvent in the laboratory. It can be used in experimental operations such as dissolution, dilution and extraction, especially in analytical chemistry and organic synthesis.
